THE OTHER NEWS - READ ALL ABOUT IT!

You might be surprised to discover that any “other” important news exists, news that somehow has escaped your attention, even with all the varied modern sources and formats of news. There are many reasons for it, ranging from simple lack of adequate resources for proper investigation, to unintentional media collusion of intentional government propaganda and misinformation. Yes Virginia, it happens all the time.

And now more than ever, it is happening at an unprecedented rate. With media mega mergers taking over all major news outlets resulting in cost cutting for increased corporate profits and obvious conflicts of business interest, to Government admitted intentional misinformation efforts, (ref. Office of Strategic Influence), there is a WHOLE LOT of OTHER NEWS you have been missing.

Why is this important? If you don’t know already, our freedoms are deteriorating daily. Freedom of the Press is being attacked not so much by Government intervention, but by the public’s acceptance of a weak and ineffective press. It is only the Press that stands between the people and out of control Government. Although this has been happening for quite some time, under the guise for the recent need of increased security, otherwise patriotic citizens are unwittingly surrendering the very basis of our democracy, our Constitutional rights, at an alarming rate.

But aside from this important issue, there are many news stories that are not being presented in their entirety. If people do not have all the facts, they cannot possibly make proper determinations.

If you are happy to allow big government and corporate concerns make up your mind for you, then you won’t be much interested in what we will present. But if you would like to have all the facts and understand issues more completely in order to form a more accurate and independent view, then you are at the right place.

To boldly go where Establishment News Media Organizations dare not, … to the OTHER SIDE of the story.

When news reports are not adequately presented by Network TV News and other Mainstream Media organizations, that’s where we come in. TheOtherNews allows people to see other perspectives of important issues in order that they may better and more fully understand ALL the facts and circumstances involved which are necessary in order to form a more accurate and independent view.

In other words, we will; UNCOVER UNTRUTHS, EMPHASIZE the DE-EMPHASIZED, ILLUMINATE the IGNORED, SUBMIT the OMITTED, REVEAL the OTHER HALF of HALF-TRUTHS, STOP the SPIN, POINT OUT PROPAGANDA, and DISBAND the MEDIA BANDWAGON!

Just because TV news is presented on a flat screen doesn’t mean it has to be one sided. News is multi-dimensional and should present a deeper view to be understood accurately. Issues must be examined from all relevant perspectives to reach any meaningful conclusion.

If Government supplied information remains unexamined and unchallenged, media simply becomes the outlet for propaganda dissemination. Government must be aggressively questioned or abuses of power are inevitable.

People ARE intelligent enough to form correct opinions on their own IF they have ample information. A shortage of airtime is no excuse to edit vitally important facts to suit News Directors personal or corporate preferences.

Government has absolutely no right to mislead, deceive or lie to its citizens, EVER. Spokespeople always have the option to express “no comment” regarding sensitive issues. At least that way, citizens can begin to renew their trust in what is said by their elected representatives and vocational bureaucrats, and not have to consider that they could be being mislead “for the common good”.

Minority opinions deserve to be heard and considered. All people have rights equal to corporations, media outlets, or majority voting blocks, even if they do not have equal finances or popular opinions.

Dialog and debate is better than death and destruction. Bottling up people’s voices only leads to frustration, hopelessness and the resulting explosive consequences. And defeat in war does not alter long held beliefs or reverse attitudes. Only understanding can do that.

We don’t think EVERYTHING reported is incorrect or incomplete. Thankfully, Mass Media is not ALWAYS wrong. And in fact, occasionally and even oftentimes, they actually present accurate alternative perspectives. We will not counter every story. But when the pressure of Corporate profit and ideological goals, directly or indirectly sway reporters away from objectivity; or when Government propaganda is simply rubber stamped and disseminated by the media without meaningful examination; or when the fervor of Nationalistic, mob mentality takes over, (my country right or wrong); or when “head in the sand”, lazy or pier pressured bandwagon journalism is at work; or whenever other reasons of incomplete or inaccurate reporting become evident, we will be there. Or rather, WE WILL BE HERE to see that you are supplied with the missing pieces you need to accurately make up YOUR OWN MIND instead of allowing governments, news directors and public relations experts do it for you.
